Triennial Assessment Report – Wellness Plan
Background
An assessment of the St. Francis of Assisi School wellness policy must be conducted a minimum of once every three years; however, it may be assessed more frequently. The results of the assessment must be made available to the public.
Schools may use a variety of methods to assess compliance and determine progress of their goals and objectives. For example, action planning documents that contain timelines, goals, and key tasks may assist in assessing changes over time. One recommended online tool that helps with action planning and recordkeeping is using the School Health Index.
St. Francis of Assisi School provides lunch for students in preschool through fifth grade, as well as breakfast for preschool students. The Wellness Committee includes representatives from all areas of the school, including the Head Cook, Hot Lunch Director, Physical Education Teacher, Principal, a parent, and a student. After assessing the current committee membership, the school plans to add a member of the teaching faculty in the coming year.
Area 1: Setting Nutrition Education Goals.
